Souths went into the penultimate league game knowing that 4 points from the final 2 games would see us promoted.
The first half saw Souths dominate possession again however they really couldn’t find the killer ball in the final third. Brad North having the best effort heading into the side netting. Souths found themselves 1-0 down just on half time, Stirling scoring from a free kick.
Souths were soon back on level terms after the restart, Brad North scoring from the penalty spot.
Souths would soon go 2-1 up, Ben Hamilton scoring within a minute of coming on.
Souths made it 3-1 from a corner before David Hardy wrapped them game up from close range.

Cup Semi Final Wednesday 14th September
Souths are through to its 2nd consecutive cup final after a commanding 3-0 win over premier league high flyers Maddington White City.
Souths started off on the front foot and dominated the first half but were unable to capitalise and went in at half time 0-0.
The second half started off the same way the first half finished with Souths dominated and within a few minutes Jack Dalla Via unleashed a shot from distance that left the keeper no chance.
Souths were soon 2-0 up after Luke Pedley bundled the ball over from a corner, before Mason Langham finished it off with a header from another corner.
Thanks to all the Souths members from the amateurs, ladies, masters and metros that made it down to cheer on the lads, as well as the committee members and former players, your support was much appreciated. Hope to see you at the final.

Coming into todays game, we knew our opponents were going to be a tough outfit to beat. Sitting 4th & with a slim chance of finishing above Souths after R22, the game started fiercely with some strong challenges & high intensity on display from both sides. Fortunately, Souths took the lead via a superb finish from returning from injury, 1st team player Cohen. 1/2 time score was 1-0 to Souths with the game fairly evenly balanced. Souths made some positional changes at the break, bringing on 3 fresh legs. And what an impact this made. 4 goals in 10min followed. Goals from Jacob x2, Jamie Kav & Shannon B, gave Souths a 5-0 lead at the 60min mark. We conceded 1 goal to end the game 5-1 victors & secure 2nd spot for the 2022 season!
The lads have faught hard all season, and the reward of 2nd spot is just & we’ll deserve. They should be proud of their efforts in his year

Masters 1 faced there second to last game away to Gosnells.
South’s dominated the first half with 15+ corners all thwarted by the gosnells defence, with the score of 0-0 going in at HT.
Second half south’s soon found the breakthrough with some good work on the right by Hannes and finding Davy Spence in the box for 1-0. Gosnells did have a couple of chances late on, when the game got scrappy, but nothing came of it and south’s held on for the win.
The win sees masters 1 secure promotion to the premier division, and 1 more win next week, in the final game at sporting warriors will see them crowned champions!
