Volunteering with SPUFC

Due to the range of volunteer roles available, there is flexibility to volunteer for as many or as little hours as you with on a regular basis or once off. We can also adapt tasks to suit your skill set and previous experience. Although, no prior volunteer experience is needed!

Benefits

Some of the benefits to volunteer include:

  • Meet and connect with people from across the club, making friends and feeling more part of the community.
  • Feel good giving back to the club that has supported you. See profits going directly back into the club and players.
  • Great experience to add to your resume and LinkedIn profile (include the club organisation page).
  • Counts towards community service hours (for secondary and high school students).
  • Potentially receive a personal reference contact and letter from the club to include in job applications.
  • Receive appropriate certificates including Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and relevant Food Safety Certificates as required by the Council, City of South Perth.
  • Invited to join Club Thank You events (with Sponsors, Coaches, Committee and Volunteers).
  • Receive reimbursement of either your player fees or your child’s player fees at the end of season. Note: this is only granted for volunteers who contribute a substantial amount of hours across the season as a thank you and is reviewed by the committee.

For each of the volunteer roles, those who put their hand up to help will receive tips information sheets and guidance from committee members on tasks and duties. As well as support with their role if their commitment level changes.

Volunteer Testimonials

“Being a volunteer at the club over the last few years has been such an enriching experience! I have met some amazing lifelong friends along the way and it’s been such a nice way to unwind. Always great fun behind the bar serving drinks on game days and helping with events.

Many hands really do make light work and the club really is centred around putting players and it’s community first. I would encourage anyone to have a go and lend a hand in any way they like. It's easy to help out and no pressure at all.”

- Chloe Leopold
I joined South Perth in 2015 and the culture and community quickly made it feel like home. I played for the ladies team for 7 years and got to meet some of my best friends for life through this club. Over the years, I coached juniors, sat on the committee, was a regular working the bar and most proudly, captained our ladies team.

Being able to volunteer my time and invest passion back into the club that supported me was so rewarding and the reason I built the connections I did. Today the club still has a special place in my heart, despite now living in Melbourne, the impact lives on as my little sister now plays for the ladies team at South Perth. I always look forward to dropping in when I’m visiting Perth and to this day, it still feels like home.”
